Thank you to Mr Smith and the children in Year 2. Thank you to our parents who came to join us too.
The children and staff had a fantastic day celebrating a piece of history. They celebrated the Queen’s 70 years as our monarch. We mixed the children up so there were children from each class in each group and they worked together to take part in Jubilee activities, had a street party lunch on the playground, sang the National Anthem, prayed for the Queen, had Jubilee cake and listened to the Queen’s favourite hymn during our whole school photo. Congratulations to Her Majesty!
What a lovely assembly led by the School Councillors today. They introduced us to our new House Point names and informed us that we would be grouped into these, along with rewards we could achieve. They also drew our Rainbow Raffle. We raised £500 for our Rainbow Retreat which will contribute to purchasing items to furnish our Rainbow Retreat. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Some of the children were lucky enough to see The Rainbow Retreat arrive today. Thank you so much to Miss Teresa for bidding for this and providing what will be a lovely retreat space for the children of Holy Cross. Thank you again Miss Teresa.
Thank you to all our our parents for their donations and support. The children enjoyed our mini Christmas fair.
Watch some of the highlights from International Food Week. Each class choose a country to learn about. We then tried foods from that country and had a great few days of learning about difficult countries and cultures.

At the beginning of the year, we had planned to mark what would have been Prince Philip’s 100th birthday with a monarchy day to learn all about the British monarchy and The Royal Family. Although he recently sadly passed away, we still marked this day. The youngest children learnt about our current monarch, and then each class the monarch before that, starting with Queen Elizabeth II in Class Reception and ending with King George IV in Class 6. We shared our learning in our assembly. Well done, Miss Duong.
